Welcome to our boards stranger and thankyou for your interest in becoming Maligned!

Before you make an Application:

First, and most important, check out the "Maligned is looking for:" post in the Recruitment
Forum. That post contains a list of currently open class spots, if your class/spec is not
listed there your chances of getting accepted for a Trial are slim. If you're still planning
to apply, even if your class/spec is currently not open for recruitment we won't stop you,
but please make sure you check back with one of our officers ingame first.

Our organisational structure is comparable to most other guilds out there:
Guildleader->Officers->Members, in our case the Guild leadership position
is occupied by Greenpiggy, our guild officers are Dhari, Electronicus, Enigmar, Ramuela and Zoey.

Just a few pointers for people thinking about putting an application down:

Primarily Maligned is a raid guild built around beating dungeons that Blizzard has
lovingly created for us and left to rot with no maintenance. We're raiding 4 days
a week, with all kinds of recreational activities in between. Finding a classification
for our Guild is somewhat tricky, i'd consider us "Hardcore" but nowhere near
"Bleeding Edge" ;) We raid alot, we wipe alot. We farm reputation and consumables
and we expect our Members to be self-sufficient at doing so to some extend.
However, we have a somewhat realistic outlook on raiding. If we cant beat an Encounter
without raider spending 100g on "Major Whatever Protection Pots" we arent going to try him.

We're aiming for Progress, but as important is the Atmosphere within the guild.
Wipes are half as bad if you're having a blast, time spent farming flies if
Rattius is rapping for us on TS (well, not really ;) ). But you get the point
i guess.

At the moment our raid schedule is built around 4 core raid days:
Tuesday, 7:30PM
Wednesday, 7:30PM
Thursday, 7:30PM
Sunday, 6:00PM

We expect that you can (and will) attend at least 3 out of our 4 main raid days regulary.
That also means we expect that as soon as you start your trial in Maligned you'll be
able to attend those raids, to improve your gear and to "get to know the guys".

We like to know how people will fit in to our drunken escapades or 'Raids' as other
guilds call them, for this reason it would be nice to know a little bit about your
character, for example a little bit about what dungeons they are keyed or not keyed to,
a little about the various resistances of your gear and the general quality of it(Blue,
Epic, Legendary).

A little info about your talent spec and your experiences of dungeons to date is beneficial
too, which spec did you choose, why, and how has it been working out for you.

If you're playing a Hybrid class and are applying to a specific position we expect you
to have a good command of the expected role and we also expect you to actually enjoy
this particular role.
Ask yourself if you'd be up for fulfilling the desired role in raids, preferably for
an extended period of time. If you have doubts: don't apply.
Statements like "I'm MS specced but i can tank if needed." are revealing that you're
not a tank at heart and are a huge turn-off in any application.

Also it is nice to see someone outline what they hope to achieve ingame, what qualities
they might bring to the guild and why this guild helps you with achieving those goals
(this is the shameless 'job interview' section if you will).

Posting on our Board:
Due to an increasingly annoying amount of SpamBots that swamp our forums we had to put
some security mechanisms into place.
You need to register and activate an Account before you can post. Additionally, the first post
you make must not contain a link. If you wish to link something in your Application (like your Armory
Profile) you need to post that link in a reply.

Should any issues occur that keeps you from posting (or sending Private Messages) contact one
of our Admins in-game: Grazoth, Greenpiggy, Rurik, Zoey

Private Applications:

We understand the fact that due to the very limited Hordeside PvE Progression on Arathor
you'd rather be safe than sorry when attempting to change guilds.
Therefore, if you'd like to give an Application to Maligned! a shot without loosing
your "backup plan" (staying in your current guild) you can send your Application as a
Private Message to one of our officers.
Your Application will be treated confidential, and wont leave our boards.

After you made an Application:

Once we have recieved your Application we're going to open up a discussion about it
in the Member's section of our forums. Every Maligned! member can express their opinion,
praise of flame you, depending on their past experiences with you. Running 5mans or
Karazhan with our members during that time is a huge plus, since they get the opportunity
to get to know you and get an impression about your playstyle.

Applying to other guilds while you have an outstanding Application with Maligned is
strongly discouraged, you should pick Maligned for a reason, and not just because
you want to be part of a (any) raiding guild.

After an undefined period of time the Application is reposted in the Officer's section
and is put up to vote. Naturally, the officer's decision will be influenced by the respones
your Application has generated amongst our members.

Be patient, we like to take our time to decide about applications, largely due to the
fact that we very very rarely fail Trials (unless you made a faux pas like... ninjalooting
our first Vashj kill, yelling "SO LONG SUCKERS!" and hearthstoning out), so waiting a week
before you get a response to your Application is nothing unusual (of course you can
request a status update about your App from one of our officers any time).

So you made it / didn't make it:
You get a negative response for a reason. Most likely because we just don't need another
XX/YY/ZZ in our roster. Make sure you check back on our open spots from time to time,
things might change.

If you got accepted for Trial: Congratulations! There is a "Trialist" section on our Boards
that should cover most of the important bits ;) Trials generally last "as long as they have
to", which in reality is 3-5 weeks.

You still want to apply? Be my guest, good luck ;)
