Blood-Queen Lana'thel

We aren’t generally going to get into the habit of posting all of our first kills, but much like Putricide, Lana’thel was a boss that we were unable to take down the first week, but took down today achieving yet another server first, but this time in both 10 and 25 man versions.

Last week, after experiencing lag on every Wednesday since Icecrown became available, we launched three 10 man groups through Icecrown each having no issues taking down Lana’thel in each. The day afterwards in our 25 man run, we took down the princes with no issues, but obviously the queen was a little bit harder and we used 15 attempts coming very close but not quite getting there.

Nevertheless one week on, with much discussion, a few upgrades, several spreadsheets and we took her down on our first attempt of the evening.

We have either overlooked something, or this fight has a DPS requirement that makes Festergut look like a particularly friendly kitten that dies on physical contact, with flatulence – although as the Ashen Verdict give the raid buffs this will become easier but we are not at that stage yet.

Next week another section opens up and we are looking forward to it.
