This is not a new post, you clearly just haven't seen it before. Check the post date - it is from ages ago, it hasn't just been written after our third kill on the 10th February. Ok, maybe it has, I needed to install Photoshop and then procrastinate a little. But yes, we have killed Chimeron on heroic, lots. Obviously the slacking in posting does give me a little more time to get all retrospective and teary eyed. Like most heroic encounters, the fight is similar to its non-heroic little sister the big change is that the final phase needs to be timed better because not only will the tanks be taking damage from a big angry mutliple headed dragon, but the entire raid will also be looking at 2000 damage every second. Basically anyone that is tanking and can't dodge is going to die every 5 seconds from the boss and with 99% healing reduction everyone else will soon follow. It has certainly been fun to see how we have improved to beat this encounter. We survived the first phases, but we found our DPS lacking so we worked out how to make the last phase last longer and of course increased our DPS using magic and sacrificing chickens. Last week I think we needed two or three goes, last night was a one shot so I am loving the fact our tactics are solid when we get there and the process is already well under way with Maloriak our next focus.
