    All,

It is with much difficultly that I find myself posting this. I am going to be reinstating Sam as guild leader and leaving the game upon my account suspensions end. Regarding that latter point. I would like to apologise for my lapse in judgement that led to getting a suspension, it's not something I should be doing as a guild leader.

To expand on my reasons, they are not soley based on a reaction to this one event. The past few WoW free days have allowed me to consider what this game actually means and sadly, logically, it don't mean a whole lot. I seem to find myself in this unhealthy cycle of living Wednesday to Wednesday, putting all other things aside so that I can maximise my progression in a game. I am at the point where the only opinion is to walk away and not return.

Returning to the account suspension, and warning rant incoming. This has played a factor in my decision. I have been playing this game on and off since it's release. In that time I have never recieved any form of warning or diciplinary action. When considering that this has been a first offence a 7 day account suspension and being treated like someone that chronically exploits the game has only cemented the feeling that all I am is £9.99 a month.

One of the reasonings given by the support team was that I was 'negatively impacting the gaming experience for others'. I find it interesting that no one seems to notice just how much of a good thing Blizzard are on to. Sure, they release content and have inplemented organisational tools such as LFR and Group Finder. Ultimately, all of the ingame organisation falls down to the individuals that are stupid enough (or willing) to do it. My point is that over the course of the last two years I have been able to provide you all with plenty of positive 'gaming experiences'. Sadly, this will never be recognised by those that run the game and they will only act if the pendulum swings to negative.

I hope that you can all continue to enjoy the game, whether that be remaining in Maligned or elsewhere. It has been on the whole a pleasure, aside from those 4 months at the end of WoD where Blizzard just let the game die (but hey! positive 'gaming experience').

    Best Regards

    Mark

Not sure as to whether I'm going to accept the Guild Leader title but regardless, I'm gonna miss you =(.

Shame to lose such a top lad, and even more of a shame to notice no one else has even replied to you, I intentionally left it to see if anyone would and I'm pretty dissapointed.
Always a spot in raids if you get bored ever. Thanks for everything you've done for the guild.

P.s can i have ur stuff?

    Hey Mac,
Can't thank you enough for all the work you put into the guild, leading us trough WoD and, at least for me, making the game fun enough to keep playing. (although I have only had that pleasure for WoD since i skipped all exp since the end of WotLK).

Not fun to see that Blizzard is even making the more core player leave the game, be it due poor design, poor handling of "infractions" or anything else on their side.

I hope to see you back when you sorted your priorities irl and wherever needed.

    /cheers

    RG

Shame to lose you Mac, but sounds like its the right thing to do for you. Best of luck outside of the game.

I never check forums either, led here by guild chat. Sometimes its nice to have a break, leave it long enough that you don't feel pressure to stay on top of progression and are no longer cross about the ban and maybe see you back in Azeroth one day?

    [IMG] Hey Mon,
I for one am heartbroken that you are leaving, I haven't responded earlier as I honestly didn't think anyone had posted so not checked. I can understand your frustration, and if you feel this is the right decision for you then I honestly wish you all the best that can come your way. You so deserve it, lovely person that you are. Thank you so much for all you have done for the guild, and with it for all of us. You have made a huge difference.

Here is to hoping that you will return to us, if not, take care, be happy and enjoy life. <3
Oh and don't be a stranger!

Only also seen this now and I'm devastated that we lose such a good player and raid lead as you. You brought the joy of raiding back in WoD for me and probably a lot of other people. The improvements that we have done as a guild since that first time stepping into a raid again in WoD and then continuing on until where we are today wouldn't have been possible without your engagement and you holding our hands as raid lead calling out all the shit we needed to look out for. You will be missed, and hope to see you back later after the break.

Welp my Monday just got a lot worse :(

Haven't been (back) in the guild long enough to properly get to know you but the times we did talk you were always a top chap and you even helped me with some RL health bullshit.

A break from the game is always a good thing and I hope to see you back in some form or another. I've found that raiding 2/3 nights some weeks helps with sanity and family stuff as well.

Anyway, farewell young sir. It won't be the same without you.

I'm always surprised that we have a forum. What's next a Maligned phone book?
I'm really sorry to hear that you are leaving, because of totally selfish reasons as you also mentioned. I think you did improve the quality of life of many guild members, I personally don't miss the MoP and Cata PuGs where I was called a retard on weekly basis.
Anyway if you feel that the game doesn't provide the enjoyment worth ten pounds a month, I think it is a good call to stop playing the game. Maybe sometime in the future you will be able to return as a dirty casual.

PS: I won't miss the feeling when I look at the healing meters and think "how the f*ck does he do it?"

You had better do something useful with all that extra time.

Your original forum account is from 2008 and the forum existed since 2005 I believe.
